The National Land Service (NLS) successfully completed an international cooperation project "Exchange of knowledge and best practices related to the modernization of activities in the areas of land management, electronic registers, geodesy, cartography and spatial data sets between the National Land Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania and the relevant Finnish and Norwegian authorities."

The project was funded by the Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Networking Program for Public Administration.

According to this project, representatives of the National Land Service visited Kartverket, the Norwegian Mapping Authority and Maanmittauslaitos, the Finnish National Land Agency.

The Norwegian and Finnish colleagues were presented with the Land Document Preparation Information System (ZPDRIS), which had been operating in Lithuania and had a high international rating. Best practices in geodesy, real estate cadastre and cartography were shared. Further opportunities for interinstitutional and international cooperation were also discussed during the visits.

“Recently, the NLS has started expanding its international relations even more actively. We are the main institution in the country that manages land administration. We have accumulated huge valuable knowledge and experience and we can share with colleagues from other countries. Of course, we are also open to various innovations and good practices from other countries ", – says Laimonas Čiakas, Director of the National Land Service.
