THE NORDIC-BALTIC CO-OPERATION OF THE NATIONAL LAND SERVICE CONTINUED IN THE DANISH INSTITUTIONS

On October 14 to 17, 2019, the representatives of the National Land Service (NLS) visited two Danish institutions under a project funded by the Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Networking Programme for Public Administration. The partners of the project "Exchange of knowledge and best practices on the optimization of digital archives and ICT processes between the National Land Service and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania and the respective Icelandic and Danish authorities" are the Danish Geodata Agency and the Danish Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency. In the institutions, the NLS representatives heard reports on the institutional activities, main areas and aspirations of the institutions, the digitalization situation in Denmark, historical maps and their storage, the implementation of data protection and the digitization of archives, registration of real estate, cadastral maps and registers and other relevant information.

Laimonas Čiakas, Director of the NLS presented the activities, main functions, aspirations and achievements of the National Land Service to both institutions, the Nordic-Baltic cooperation project and the expected results were addressed by Ruslanas Golubovas, the head of Public Relations Division and the Director of the Department of General Affairs together with Eglė Hurčinaitė-Orlickienė, Head of the Document Management and Personal Service Division presented the Digitization Project and the NLS situation in this field. All the meetings took place in a vigorous debate, sharing good practice.

The financial support provided by the Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Networking Programme for Public Administration is aimed at fostering knowledge transfer for the mutual benefit of different areas and different administrative levels for public sector representatives from the Nordic and the Baltic States, as well as promoting the exchange of good public administration practices and contributing to the harmonization of standards. The NLS participates in this Programme with projects which are under consideration by the Programme and receive partial financial support in compliance with the Programme requirements.
